Summer Internships at AIM

Make your summer count!

Would you like to spend your summer leading and ministering alongside passionate students in different areas all over the United States? Here's your chance!

Adventures in Missions has paid internships as Project Facilitators available in New Orleans, Mississippi, and Kentucky. You will be the Project Leader for a small group of between 28 and 35 participants. This, in turn, forms part of a larger project of 200 participants.

You will use the training you have received as a project leader to facilitate your group's ministry and be their point of contact for AIM during their one week project. You will be responsible for ensuring that your Project Group experiences all the standard elements of an AIM project. Remember, you will be the spiritual leader of your Project Group. You will lead the prayer times and the debrief times during the course of the day. The participants will look to you for leadership and for direction.

Before the week starts, you will be assigned a group of participants and will be given a ministry chart to follow for that week. You will be expected to call the Youth Pastors of your groups prior to them coming on their mission trip. As you follow the ministry chart, you will need to keep everything on schedule, with grace and integrity.

Qualifications: To be a successful Project Facilitator, an individual must have finished their sophomore year of college and be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and exhibit the following:

  1. Spiritual Maturity
    • Love for the lost "And seeing the multitudes, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd." (Matthew 9:36 - NASB)
    • Walking it out "in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:4 - NASB)
    • Exhibiting fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22) "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
    • Practicing spiritual awareness and sensitivity to God's leading (Colossians 1:9) "But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves." (James 1:22 )
  2. Spiritual disciplines
    • Spending regular time with the Lord and in the Word
    • Actively contributing to a local church body
  3. Personal Integrity
    • Maintains personal purity
    • Stays above reproach in relations with family, friends, and community

This internship is from June 2 – August 11, 2007.

Application deadline is March 19th.

Pray about making a difference with your summer and being the hands, feet, and heart of Christ Jesus!
