The team is resting in Iquitos and are excited about seeing you all in a few days. We had a full day of shopping where the students bought alot of cool things for their families! God has really brought us so close and it is going to be so terribly hard to leave each other.

Below are some of the students' notes to family and friends back home. I hope that you all find them encouraging!!!

The past month has been a challenge and an adventure. It's radical to see God moving, even in the depths of the Amazon Jungle.

A good report! 12

7/13/2005  By: Alli Mellon, Program Coordinator

Dear families and friends,

Yesterday we got a full report from the Amazon Jungle, thanks to Crystal Reitsma, our spanish-speaking AIM staff member! Crystal spoke with Mrs. Montero, who has been in continual contact with our host, Pastor Jorge Montero. Mrs. Montero reports that the team has been ministering in the jungle "city" of San Juan, in addition to many smaller, more primitive villages. She said the team has been a HUGE blessing to the people of this area, and that they have been spreading the word of the Lord like crazy.
None of the team members have been sick at all-every one is in great health! Pastor Montero reports that the team has been a blessing to him personally, as well. He will be sad to see them go when their time there is done.
Today, the team is in a very primitive native village. The people in this village look like pictures you have seen of the poorest of the poor. The team will be there until next Tuesday, when they return to civilization. I will be speaking with them then, and will post a report as soon as I can.
Please pray for the team's last full week of ministry. Pray for strength, endurance, good health, and the joy of the Lord to completely surround the team. As they minister to the native Indians of the jungle, pray that God fills the team with his heart of compassion.
Thank you for sending this wonderful team to the Amazon! I praise God for the ways they have been able to show Christ's love to so many-
Alli

***A note from Alli Mellon, Program Coordinator, for those of you who are picking up team members after their trips: please pick up all participants at the Atlanta airport Atrium before noon. The Atrium is easy to find-it is located directly between the two baggage claims, and is the area where the food court is. It is the only one of it's kind in the airport. The teams will be gathered around the "clock tower", directly across from the mouth of the dinosaur skeleton! If you were planning on picking someone up at the hotel, please come to the Atrium instead. The entire team will be at the airport, telling each participant good-bye. No one will be left behind at the hotel. Participants will be calling their families as soon as they arrive back in Atlanta, so you can confirm plans with them then. Thank you.

A-Ok in the Amazon! 10

7/11/2005  By: Alli Mellon, Ambassador Coordinator

Hello, families and friends!

I wanted you to know that today we spoke twice with the wife of Jorge Montero, our Amazon Pastor. Mrs. Montero reports that the team is deep in the jungle doing the work of the Lord, and that everything is going well! She had absolutely no problems to report, and we want you all to know that you will be so proud of this team. They'll have lots of stories to tell when they return to civilization. In the meantime, we'll keep you updated with any news we receive. You will hear from us again later in the week.

Join us in our prayers that this experience will be a life-changing one for our team and for the people of the Amazon Jungle!

In Christ,

Alli Mellon

One Day Left 5

6/26/2005  By: Michael Page, Team Leader

Hello Again! The team woke up early this morning and had breakfast and a quiet time. We also prayed over each team before we started the day because today is the final day of training camp! There is a very anxious feeling throughout the team and the excitement is very evident!

Last night we had an amazing worshp service that lasted for two hours. God really blessed us with His presence and He continues to show us His faithfulness in so many ways.

It's hard to believe that in two days we will be in the Amazon Jungle. I am so excited for each one of your kids, they are such an encouragment to each of the team leaders. Our team constantly prays for us as leaders!

All the kids wanted me to say hello to their parents, but with 32 kids, that is impossible. Just know that your kids are constantly praying for you all!

From Dawn Until Dusk 4

6/25/2005  By: Michael Page, Team Leader

Hey everyone! Training camp is well underway and all of the kids are very excited. We have had three days of drama training, team building, and lots of worship. Our team has really come together in a very short period of time, and now we are counting the days until Monday!

When we first arrived at training camp, our team was very nervous because of the fact that they were leaving the country with 32 total strangers. After a few team building activities and some very intimate small group sessions, our team seemed like a family!

For the whole week, from dawn until dusk, different members of our team have carried a cross to remind us of Luke 9:23, which says, "If anyone would come after me, he must put aside his selfish ambition, shoulder his cross daily and follow me."

The kids have really found this humbling and have grown tremendously. God has already done so much within our group, and I can't wait to see what He has in store for this faith-driven team. Please check out our prayer request and photo links, so that you can stay informed.

Please pray for our leaders and our team continuously!

Pray for unity in our ranks and that the enemy would have no effect on our ministry!

Giving them Heaven,
Michael Page

Pictures are coming 3

6/24/2005  By: Ashlie Bacon, Next Step Department

Just a quick line to say to check out the pictures section, because pictures are being added so that you can get a glimpse of what training camp is like, and see pictures of whats going on! We are continuing to trust that the Lord is going to work in amazing ways in the lives of the students as they seek the Lord and lean on his strength to accomplish all the tasks put before them! Your prayers are felt, and know that you are being lifted up in prayer as well as you adjust to having friends and family gone from home for this time! Praise the Lord for all He is doing and is going to do!
