Touch from God 1

Hi, Aldersgate! This is Christine Persun. Today we traveled to a nursing home and health care center that worked with mentally disabled. One moment that I think I will remember for the rest of my life is of a little old lady who saw me and reached out to me. I knelt down beside her wheelchair and took her hand. She put her free hand on the side of my face and whispered to me, "I don't know who you are, but I love you." It always surprises me how I go on a mission trip to reach out and show others God's love and I receive the blessing in the end.

Hi, everyone. This is Alex Arcuri. We're having a great time here in Tennessee! Our ministry group went to a senior center this afternoon. I met some very feisty elderly women there who were a lot of fun. They liked making fun of us and nicknamed Joe Lutz "Big Boy". There was a lady at the senior center who sang all of the songs with us when we sang as a group and she said you just have to give your problems to God and take things step by step.

Hello. This is Morgan Hursh. I wanted to share an experience from today's activities with you. Earlier today, I had the opportunity to visit a nearby park by the name of Lynn Gardens. As we were browsing the surrounding neighborhoods, we stumbled upon a man that was about 54 years of age. He had a VERY raspy, faint voice. When we discovered that there was an older man talking to us from across the street, we proceeded to approach him. We asked the man if he knew anything about the other man's condition. He told us that he had cancer in his esophagus. After talking to this man for a while longer, we headed back to find the rest of our group. We told Emily Parker about the man and asked if she would join us in praying for him. Then we went back to the house of the man, who was still sitting on his porch. Although he was hard to understand, we asked if he wanted to pray with us. He didn't understand what we meant by "prayer", so he said "I don't have any money for you." It broke my heart to hear him say that. We held hands and prayed with him. He was extremely gracious. He shook all our hands and we told him to have a good day. That is how God touched my life today.
