We went to Grea Spirit and did VBS. The kids really enjoyed it and so did we. I think they really got the message we were trying to relay to them. The kids had a great attitude after we prayed over it and were so much fun to be with. The joy on their faces spoke volumes. All in all, VBS was a success!!!

When we first started our afternoon VBS, many of the children were acting out. One in particular was very defiant and mean to all of the other kids and even hit a few of them. So, of course we prayed for him. The next few days were a little better. By the last night, we had seen a HUGE improvement. He was being nice to everyone and wasn't talking back. So, we thanked God for that.

When we first came to the Mashulaville Dorm and worked with the kids, Brandi and I noticed that there wasn't a specific craft room. So, when Angela asked us to clean and organize the room we were exited! We also decided to decorate the room as opposed to only organizing it. Since there were already hand prints on the walls, we kept up the theme. We had all the kids, teens and leaders paint their hands onto construction paper and we put those on the walls. It felt nice to be able to go in and do someting that the dorm needed! It also made us feel appreciated when we saw everyone's excited faces.

Mississippi trip was a great experience and I have learned a lot from it. I just feel like spiritually, mentaly, and physicallygrew a lot during the trip. I never put myself out there to help children or do any kind of activities like this before. God definitly showed His power and might in this trip!!! we prayed for the Choctaw kids and pepole in this area and He answered almost right away. We also prayed for ourselves and He answered us by giving us strength to push through everything. I have never felt so close to God before this trip! This has truely been an amazing trip.

So far the trip has been amazing! Gos has really opened my eyes; especially to the needs of the children and sick. Yesterday, a group of us went to an elderly man's house that has a stroke back in 2007 and we thought he couldn't really speak any more. Once we got there, he greeted us outside and just had the biggest smile on his face. We talked to him for about an hour about his family, his home, where he has traveled, took us on a tour of his house, and showed us a photo album of his family. It really amazed me how joyful he was and how well he spoke. At the end of our visit, we read him the story of Jesus healing the blind man. I felt he could really relate because he also had had a hard stuggle. Right before we left, we prayed for him and he requested we pray for him to be a better man. That really touched me; he had been through so much and still wanted to be a better man for Christ. It was awesome!

This trip so far has been AWESOME! I am really enjoying myself. We are staying at a house where in the mornings a bunch of kids are drpped off areound 7am and are picked up around 2:30pm. Throughout the day the kids are always doing something and they always want our attention! So, we are VERY busy! We have about an hour off and then we head off to have VBS for the Choctaw kids. Those kids are also very active! I was able to go to a home visit and really enjoyed it. Their adult son had been in bed for 26 years and ended up witnessing to US! His faith was amazing and really touched me.

Not only has this trip strengthned my relationship with God, it has also strengthned my relationship with the local kids and my youth group. Yesterday, I was in covering prayer. We prayed for all kinds of things including that some of the kids would turn their lives to Christ. And some did! I really think the kids we are working with are becoming awesome Christians!

Our trip to the retirement home went very well. We got to see people from last year, and we sat and talked with them. We played Bingo and sang worship songs. We also read a scripture about healing. And we got to play dominoes with some of the residents. It was a very inspiring part of the trip.

So far on the trip we ahve worked a lot with the kids at the Mashulaville Dorm. We have taught them lessons in the morning and led worship for about 40 kids. We then interact and play with them until around two when they go home. Also, during the day, I have done covering prayer where we are in a group of about 5 people and take turns praying for various things that God lays on our hearts. We also did a home visit to a family that has a disabled son and his father was in very bad shape. We went there to spend time with them and minister to them but DD, the paralyzed son, actually ended up ministering to us! His joyful spirit and attitude about life was very inspiring. At night from about 5-9pm, we have a VBS for some of the Choctaw children. It is challenging but very rewarding. We have managed to form some strong bonds with many of the kids and have been able to support them in their relationship with God.

Today is day 5 of our Choctaw Mission Trip. We are staying in a Minnanite dorm in Mashulaville, which is about 30 minutes from our main ministry location in Bogue Chito (pronounced Bok Cheeto). In the morning, half of our team prayer walks and participates in covering prayer. The other half works with the feeding prgram where we stay. It is mostly African American children ages 3-18. In the early afternoon our team continies to work with the children. Some of us were able to do house visits to shut-ins in the surrounding area. Our evenings are spent working with the local Native American children in a VBS setting. It has been really awesome to see some of my friends that I made last year and continue to build relationships. The trip has been great so far and I know it will only get better!!!
