   Reports for Belize Trip
This isn't a vacation 6

3/16/2010  By: Jamie Mayo, student missionary
First Baptist Church-  Sulphur, Oklahoma

So today was a God speaking moment for me. He brought me way out of my comfort zone. Farther then i would have suspected he would. Through this week he has been talking to me about stepping out and being a leader. I never really thought it would come up.
This morning we went to St. Anthony's School and put on a VBS program. Our group had games for the day. For about 40 minutes i was volunteered to be in charge of the preschoolers. He really showed me there to not be afraid to be crazy and wild with the kids, because loving on them is what were here for.
That afternoon our group was sent out to hand out food and share the gospel door to door. I believe God put Clayton Edgar in my group to show me the ways you can tell the gospel. At one house we went to I was asked to pray. The women's T.V. was playing quietly in the background. Then as i began to pray for her the T.V. show began screaming out cuss word. I had nothing else to do but pray louder. I was like i was competing with the devil.
At the last house we went to i was asked to share the gospel to a mother of three kids. I don't know how but God stretched me to reach down into that mothers heart. Being stretched that far has now brought me peace.
P.S. Thank you Jesus!!

Strength 5

Belize is an amazing place. The people always seem to be friendly no matter the situation. We are total strangers to them yet almost all of them invite you in with a smile on their face. One of the things that surprised me the most is the lengths these people go through to simply keep them and their families alive. Through prostitution or walking many miles with a heavy load of crops on their back they do what they must to survive and I respect that. I believe GOD is at work here. Most everyone is a christian, or claim to be a christian at least, and that is very encouraging. The trials they go through i don't think I could handle, and the strength and will they have to survive blows me away. Please keep Belize in your prayers reader GOD is at work here.

ATL: The White House 4

First Baptist Church-  Sulphur, OK

Let me start by saying, I never thought I would be sitting in the middle of a jungle writing a blog. Belize is a beautiful country. This part of God's creation is unlike anything I have seen before.Today we went into town to do home visits. This being my first mission trip, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was feeling a mixture of fear & excitement. Before we got off the bus we had an ATL (Ask The Lord). Along with everyone else, I sat & waited for God to speak. I don't know about you, but for me, it can be challenging to "be still". I was anxious in the beginning with my mind & heart feeling like they were going to pop into a million pieces. Then, I started saying "be still and know that I am God" over & over again in my mind and a sweet peace came over me. I was then ready to listen. Expecting a voice, the Lord gave me a picture of a white house on stilts then the face of a woman with her hair up in a big bun. I didn't know what to think at first. Afterwards, we all shared what the Lord showed us. Tal Wayne began to say how he saw a house on pillars with trees down the walk way. It was then when it set in what I had seen. I turned around & said "It wasn't a white house was it?!" My eyes were huge I'm sure! He wasn't sure of the color though. We all parted into teams, passing out rice, beans, flour & sugar to different houses. After a couple hours, I found no white house or woman. When we returned to the bus, Lanny asked if I saw my white house, I said no. He then told me they saw one about 2 blocks away. I couldn't believe it! We began to start driving and I kid you not there was my white house!! Tal Wayne, Melody & myself took off walking towards it. As we got closer Tal Wayne realized the trees lined the walk way. We walked from the back to the front of the house to find it was unfinished. I climbed the stairs hoping to find someone there. We knocked & waited but no one was home. I'm not sure what all the Lord is showing me through this, but I know He is faithful and His ways are nothing like my own.Perhaps, God just wanted me to be a witness of Him being a light unto my feet.Learning to be still,to listen, to be obedient & trust in Him to provide. I may never know the full meaning of the white house or the woman with her hair in a bun, but My God did a new work in me and through me today. I stepped out of my comfort zone & he stretched me. I saw him move not only with me but with many others.

my view of belize mission trip 3

first baptist church of sulphur-  sulphur, oklahoma

today was a great day. it had its up and downs. after all the mission trips i have been on, this one has been the most touching. what makes it this way is when we went to the houses we gave them food and bibles and we started to talk to them and they told us about all there problems and hard times. after i heard all their stories, they really made me sad to hear all of the stuff. i went to this one house and the lady had a lot of fruit and she gave us one of each and then we walked around back and she said if you come back will you fix my bathroom . she said i live with my dad and he is in the hospital and is not doing well so we asked her if she had a bible and she said no so we gave her one and she said that all of the plants i have is because god has given me a gift. i thought that today was a very powerful day

First Night @ Hosanna House 1

3/14/2010  By: Lanny Richardson, AIM Project Leader

The team from FBC Sulphur, OK arrived safely to Belize and experienced a great day of travel by bus to Valley Community, Belize. Although the ride was long, the faces and comments of the team along the way made for interesting conversations about the "shacks" and living conditions of the people in Belize.

Located in Valley Community is "Hosanna House" a ministry of Here's Hope Ministries that serves as a home for unwanted, neglected and abused children. You can only imagine some of the stories of why these girls and boys have been placed int his facility. My heart broke as Director Bob Eberly told me of just some of their stories.

The team had a great day of fun and interaction with the children & youth of Hosanna House. The teenage girls of Hosanna House play on a league volleyball team and "schooled" the youth team from FBC Sulphur, OK big time!

It was great to see and hear all of the interaction between the mission team from FBC Sulphur, OK and the kids of Hosanna House. I am expecting God to do mighty things in the lives of the team and through them to be His hands and feet to Belize.

Please pray for each member of the FBC Sulphur, OK Team as they seek to "Follow God ... Reach Our World" by ...
... leading worship and ministry to the Hosanna House children each night & morning worship on Sunday @ Light of the Valley Baptist Church, Valley Community, Belize
... being the hands & feet of JESUS to preschoolers & families in Dangriga, Belize on Monday
... being the hands & feet of JESUS to students and families in Middlesix , Belize & service projects at Hosanna House on Tuesday
... being the hands & feet of JESUS to 2 schools on Wednesday & visiting families in Valley Community & Oak Creek, Belize
... Asking the Lord (ATL) on Thursday how He wants us to join Him in where He is working
