In proverbs, the Word says that hope deferred makes the heart sick but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life...You may have heard me quote this one before but I figured it was worth a revisit. The bible also talks about how God will give the desires of your heart to those who delight in Him. In shawshank redemption, Red says that hope is a dangerous thing while Andy claims that it is what you need to hold onto most. Evidently those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength and my

"Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

My chains are gone
I've been set free &nbs

Our journey from Zimbabwe to Nelspruit, South Africa was quite the
journey to say the least. It was supposed to be a 20 hr journey and it
ended up being almost 30hrs in a van filled with 14 of us - my team,
the GWs and Team Bling (the other all girl team). We had quite the
journey and to capture it, one of the girls, Blair Brendle, from BLING
wrote this little poem. Hope you enjoy!

Amazing prophetic prayer time with my team followed by a morning run down cobble stone streets saying Hola to everyone I pass (and out of breath because I'm running with Joel and Summer - humans with bionic legs). Preparing lunch for the 50 some people on the squad by cutting some of the most gigantore carrots on steroids I've ever seen. Hanging out with other World Changers and forgetting that today is usually a day full of BBQ's and fireworks with friends and family. It reminds me of where I w

Transit from Slovakia to Guatemala entailed 2 bus rides, 5 flights, and about 50 hours. Mmmm jet lag!

Now
we're chillin' in Antigua, a town that looks and feels like a
Guatemalan postcard. The place is gorgeous and quaint, foot-accessible,
and relaxing. A morning jog shows the city's many faces. Tiny nias
walk with schoolbags bigger than they are. Colorful autobuses spew
black smoke and noise and say "Dios te bendiga" on the back. Busy
open-air markets hum with activity.

We have big hopes for the school and all the students and are excited to be a part of the Institute. There is still a lot of work left to do on the Institute before completion, but it is at a functional level. Thank you once again.

While in the bush of Mozambique, we ended up in a town called Machanga. We paddled in hollowed out trees that were used as canoes, walked up a several mile sand road, and eventually made it to the small community in a cornfield where we'd spend the month serving at. Our ministry involved a really random slew of opportunities like teaching at a pastor's conference, helping teach theology at a women's conference, teaching at an elementary school and a lot of other random ministries such as prayer

Serve the Lord wholeheartedly, Oh how I love verses like these
But this month in Mozambique it was not those verses to which I was called
To do, to help, to go, to serve those actions came to a halt
A new set of verses on which the Lord asked me to meditate
