Mexico Coffeehouse / Public School Teaching Team
Dates: May 31 until July 31
Cost: $1900
Team Capacity: 15 people

Come live in Mexico for the summer! There are great opportunities to minister on the border of Texas in Matamoros Mexico for those interested in building relationships and helping Mexican youth to deal with moral and spiritual issues in their lives. The high schools are opened up for us to come and teach about moral issues and family values. This team will also be running a coffeehouse where the students from the school can come out and continue to build relationships with the members of the team. This coffeehouse will be a great model of how to run a business that is also a ministry to the community.

For this team we need members who can do at least one of the following:

  • Teach in a classroom setting.
  • Reach out and relate to Mexican youth.
  • Help with the business aspect of the coffeehouse - accounting, ordering supplies, make coffee, etc.
  • Work with the team to reach out to the community at large through evangelistic outreaches and community service.

Jamaica Orphanage/Infirmary/Street Ministry/Girls and Boys Home Team
Dates: May 31 until July 31
Cost:   $2400
Team Capacity: 12 people

In Jamaica there is more than just beautiful beaches and resort hotels. There are people in desperate need of the Love of Christ you have to offer. Based in Montego Bay, this team will minister in two orphanages and an Infirmary (a combination home for old folks, the mentally ill, and the extreme poor) in Montego Bay. In addition to this there is a boys home for delinquent youth and a girls home for the same where ministry opportunities abound! Work with missionaries in Saint Mary's on their weekly street ministry outings. This team is a great way to see the spiritual needs of the people in this country where most people only visit for vacation. If you come on this team, don't come to see the beach - come to minister to the many Jamaicans in need.

Team members for this team need only a desire to share the love of Jesus and a dedication to minister outside themselves.

Ten days of your summer will be spent helping facilitate the ministry of a youth group coming to do evangelism and construction ministry.

Inner City Philadelphia Ministry Internship/Street Ministry Team

Dates: May 31 until July 31
Cost: $1800
Capacity: 12 people

In the Kensington area of Inner City Philadelphia there are many churches and ministries that need your help. Dying inner city churches trying to stay relevant in a decaying environment need you to help them reach out to the community around them. Come use your gifts with their summer youth and children's ministry or other outreaches they are planning. This will take up around 20 hours of your time each week. The rest of the ministry time will be spent with street ministry with a local missionary. Come learn how to minister to addicts and prostitutes locked in a mortal battle for both their lives and souls. Work with AIM staff member Dave Hain to bring the love of the Father and the hope of Jesus to the hopeless and hateful streets of the inner city with the goal of bringing people of the streets and into recovery.

Team members for this team need to be ready to serve outside their comfort zone. The realities of ministering in the inner city will require an amount of faith for safety both physically and spiritually.

Dates: May 31 until July 31, 2001
Cost: $2800

From the slums of Nairobi to villages in “the bush” you’ll have the chance to see God at work in many ways in Kenya. While in Nairobi you’ll be working in Kibera, a slum with more than 1,000,000 people. A local pastor has started and informal Christian school, for the many children in Kibera that can’t afford government schooling. You’ll have the chance to help in the school with Bible training and also minister alongside the students as they do evangelism in their community.
