2002 Paid Summer Staff Trip Descriptions

Philadelphia
Drugs, crime, prostitution, alcohol and homelessness have become strongholds over many of the city's 1.6 million inhabitants. AIM runs youth mission trips to the Kennsington inner-city district where we present the Gospel that changes the lives of people who live within the realm of poverty, violence, and drug dealing.

West Virginia
There is a mindset in the hollers of Appalachia that perpetuates a cycle of property and dependence upon the welfare state. However, with welfare reform instituted and the coal industry long dead, these poorest of the U.S. face an uncertain future. Teen pregnancy, drugs, and illiteracy plague the youth in this culture, and hopelessness and despair seem to pervade the mountain air. AIM mission trips to this area present the Gospel though service and relational ministry.

Mexico
AIM facilitates youth mission trips to share the Gospel with the people of Mexico. Hundreds move to a border town week, setting up ramshackle housing wherever they can find an empty lot. We have seen how the Lord impacts the lives of children and adults with the Gospel of Christ. AIM trips go to Matadors, and the towns of Reynosa, Ensenada, Saltillo, Nuevo Laredo, Tijuana, and Tampico.
