1.) Do all my participants and leaders have to have made a profession of Christ BEFORE the project?
Absolutely! You are going out as missionaries to bring the Good News of Christ to others so it is VITAL that you have a personal relationship with Jesus and that you can communicate that to others.
2.) What is the minimum age requirement for a
participant on a youth trip?
Junior high students MUST be 12 by the time they go on the project. (Not turning 12 during the project.) Senior high students should be 14 by the time of the project.
3.) Will my group be combined with another youth group?
Your group will be combined with others during meal times, praise and worship gatherings and in the dorm rooms. However, they will do ministry with their own team.
4.) For youth trips, what penalties apply if a youth decides not to go on the project?
If you need to drop someone from the project the penalties are as follows:
The closer in time to the start date for your project, the more money we
disburse on your behalf to prepare for your project. Given this, if your group
or a participant in your group cancels, a cancellation fee may apply to cover
our costs. The cancellation fee schedule is:
Participants who cancel more than 90 days before the start of the project will
receive a refund of their Participant Retainer Deposit.
Participants who cancel more than 60 days before the start of the project will
be responsible for their Participant Retainer Deposit
Participants who cancel between 30 and 60 days before the start of the project
will be responsible for ½ of the-per participant cost for the project.
Participants who cancel less than 30 days before the start of the project will
be responsible for 2/3 of the per-participant cost for the project.
Participants that cancel but do not notify AIM in writing until after the start
of the project will be responsible for the total per-participant cost for the
project.
Note that all cancellations must be made in writing and submitted to AIM. Also
note that the Registration Deposit of $500 is non-refundable no matter when the
cancellation is made.
AIM projects have a minimum number of participants that are required for a
project to take place. AIM reserves the right to cancel a project if that
required number is not met.
5.) Can I substitute a participant if one drops out?
You will be able to substitute a participant up to 10 weeks before the project date. After the 10-week period no substitutions can be made due to the fact they have not participated in your training and team building.
6.) For youth trips, how many leaders should I bring? Can I bring more leaders than youth?
We ask that you bring 1 leader per every 6 youth. Yes, you may bring more leaders than youth as long as they understand that the projects are geared for youth and they will be expected to participate in the same ministries.
