Your team will partner with the Springfield Dream Center and make a direct impact on families in poverty by providing practical help and life-giving hope through service and giving.
Focusing on families in Zone 1, the geographical area in Springfield shown to have the highest poverty, addiction, and abuse rates, we make a direct impact by providing resources and life skills. These resources and long-term skills provide families traction towards spiritual, mental, and physical stability. With stability, families see impossible dreams are now an achievable reality.
The Springfield Dream Center is the perfect place to learn more about the needs of our community and supply help for today and hope for tomorrow to those who need it.
The Springfield Dream Center facility used to be a school, and is now a ministry site. Your team will be sleeping in what were previously classrooms on the floor, so bring air mattresses and sleeping bags, or sheets and blankets! We will eat all our meals together and participate in praise, worship and debriefing each night at the facility.
Hotels are also an option at an increased price. If your team would like to stay in a hotel, we encourage you to book your trip as quickly as possible to capture the best price. We will make these reservations for you through our partnership with various hotel groups.
There is a full kitchen with anything you might need. Meals are very much a team effort, and we have a lot of fun in the process! Teams will participate in meal prep and serving. Breakfast will be cold cereal, fruit, bagels, etc. Hot breakfasts could be available as well, depending on the group’s willingness to contribute to the meal prep and cooking. Lunch will be packed sandwiches, fruit and a side to take to the ministry site. Hot dinners will typically be served after ministry at the church each day.
Springfield is home to a major airport where your team could fly into. Most of our teams choose to drive in, allowing them to use their vans or bus throughout the week. Parking is available on-site.
The safety of our participants is a top priority for us. We have both an internal Risk Management team and external Risk Management consultants. We use a multi-pronged approach to risk management - including monitoring information from reporting agencies and relying on the knowledge of our ministry partners. In addition to our own protocols (e.g., students must be with an adult at all times), our ministry hosts and partners will provide trip specific safety guidelines for the particular trip location. Our Project Leaders are trained in risk management and have access to both on-field and home-office support.
$75 Deposit: This per person deposit is required to complete your registration. At this point, you will lock in your trip and we will keep in touch with you going forward about preparation. This deposit is applied to the total cost of your trip.
50% Payment: Half of your total trip cost will need to be paid 6 weeks before your trip.
100% Payment: The remaining balance is due 1 month before your trip.
