I used to wonder “How do I live a life of purpose?” Can you relate?
The World Race was a catalytic year that changed the trajectory of my life forever. I developed a deeper relationship with God, built lasting friendships, and received firsthand experience on how to make a difference in the world. Today, my team and I have the privilege of leading hundreds of people on Semesters (one of the fastest-growing programs in our organization!) We’ll be your guides as you discover God’s plans are bigger than you ever dreamed. During your trip, our trained leadership team will share how to read the Bible and apply it as you serve and build relationships and live in an authentic Biblical community.
The Semesters Route 1 journey empowers you to:
1. Grow with God
Witness God moving through the ministries and people you serve. Rely on His strength to fuel your days and His voice to lead the way.
2. Find Community
Discover how to be the church, and love each other while living and serving together at the Adventures Bases in Thailand and in Malaysia.
3. Make a Difference
Witness the Lord bring restoration and healing as you prayer walk through Thailand’s redlight districts. Build relationships in Malaysia and exemplify what it looks like to live a life for Jesus.
MINISTRY:Adventures Base & network of local ministry partners
This nation’s friendly people have earned Thailand its suitable nickname as the Land of Smiles. Here you will have the opportunity to reveal the truth of Jesus to a deeply unreached country, whether you are prayer-walking through the red-light district, ministering to tourists, playing with street kids, or teaching English to local Thai people.
When we get closer to your launch date, we'll update this page with the specifics of what ministry you'll get to partner with in Thailand.
FOCUS:Prayer/intercession, Worship, Teaching, and Refugee ministry
As you wander the streets of Penang, crowded with motos and food stands, you may notice a Buddhist temple next to an Islamic mosque next to a Christian church. This coastal nation is a melting pot of Indians, Chinese, Malays, and indigenous communities. Though Malaysia is technically a closed country, the people are eager and waiting to hear the Gospel. You will work alongside our ministry partners to build relationships with these diverse communities and show them a life of following Jesus.
Meet PenHOP! It began 10 years ago and here’s their story!
"God drew together a group of people from all over the world to host a series of prayer gatherings for the Church in Penang. Many churches in the city participated, and some felt called to be part of seeing a House of Prayer be built in Penang. His glorious presence drew many unto Himself. God continued to prove His faithfulness, and despite our shortcomings, we saw the prayer room hours increase, intercessors being raised, missionaries being commissioned, internships and training weekends be established, and hungry hearts, both from Penang and abroad, encountering His transforming presence over the past 5 years. Looking ahead, we believe the Lord is calling this House to Spark and Strengthen what He is doing in the prayer movement in Malaysia and in the surrounding region. We believe He will use us to help establish new houses of prayer in the region and partner with existing ones to equip and raise up a generation of forerunners. It is our fervent desire to see worship lifted up to the Lord, not just in Penang but in our region, because Jesus is worthy. We believe as we gaze upon Him, we receive His heart for the nations, which in turn compels us to go: this is the nexus of worship, intercession, and missions."
