Thailand is known by many as “The Land of Smiles”. Though an alluring tourist destination, Thailand’s glimmering cities and sandy beaches are marred by the dark reputation of sex trafficking and sex tourism. With a population of 69 million people, 98% are Buddhist and nearly 90% of the population remains unreached with the Gospel.
Adventures in Missions has a large network of ministry partners. Located in the heart of Chiang Mai, local culture and tourism merge for endless opportunities to be an example of the love of God. These missionaries work with their strategic partners to support the body of Christ in Thailand and meet various needs within the community. You will come alongside them in this spirit of collaboration to embody Jesus to a deeply unreached country.
Attend “monk chats” where you will grow in understanding of the Buddhist and Thai worldview. Intercede during prayer walks through the city. Support organizations that provide basic needs and job readiness for women leaving the sex industry. Lend a hand on farms that are teaching sustainable agriculture and installing water filtration systems. Help run English camps and activities for children in surrounding villages. Spend time on nearby campuses forming relationships with local university students.
From the charming city of Siem Reap to the wondrous temples of Angkor Wat, the Kingdom of Cambodia fascinates and inspires. As you ride a tuk-tuk down dusty village roads surrounded by flooded rice paddies, you might see houses built on stilts or crumbling Buddhist temples. Even after a devastating genocide wiped out a generation, the Cambodian people are moving forward with a hopeful outlook and a generous heart.
With Buddhism being the largest religion, the task remaining in Cambodia is large with 98% of the population unreached with the Gospel. Come alongside the local church as we train and equip believers to reach their neighbors. Serve in a variety of practical ways, helping meet the needs of children and families.
The Cambodia base for Adventures in Missions connects with a large network of partners within Cambodia. Rooted in the eclectic city of Siem Reap, where tourism drives the local economy, this missionary base team is committed to reaching people with the Gospel and empowering locals.

Come alongside our ministry partners to serve the community you’ll live in. You will focus a lot of your time being the hands and feet of Jesus through outreach and discipleship.
We have an experienced risk management team. They monitor political, health, weather, and other risks in the regions where we serve. We continue to confidently plan impactful trips and adjust when necessary. We won’t launch a trip that isn’t up to our standards of safety. In 2020, we canceled our international trips due to safety and travel restrictions with COVID-19 and gave options to our participants to join us domestically or defer to a later date. We currently feel confident launching this trip. If we have to cancel this trip, or you don’t feel comfortable going, the money you’ve raised can be applied to a different or future trip within the next calendar year.
I understand how it feels to hear that whisper inside you that there’s got to be more to your faith than what you’re experiencing. That’s why I risked it all, quit my job, sold everything I owned and took off overseas to serve God and His people. I got a taste of the ‘more’ God had for me. 10+ years and 30+ countries later, my team and I now help other young people experience adventurous and purpose-filled moments with God like I had ...one semester at a time.
A large part of this journey is growing in your walk with Christ. We desire to model the way Jesus discipled his followers. Mentors, coaches, and fellow Racers will disciple you, while you serve, love, and disciple others.
You’ll spend the first few days of your trip at a training camp here at World Race headquarters in North Georgia.
You’ll get to experience raw Christian community as you travel, serve, and encourage each other. Once you officially join the Race, you will be invited to a private Facebook group to begin getting to know your squad.
We’ll provide coaching, video tutorials, scripts, and ideas for fundraising plus a free fundraising course and a blog so you can tell your story and accept donations. We also have structured deadlines to help you reach your goal.
Our commitment to risk management includes internal and external teams who constantly monitor and manage risk and create contingency plans as needed.
