My name is Jeremy, I’m 32 and originally from Ft. Wayne, IN. My gorgeous wife and I did the 11n11 World Race as a married couple back in 2011. That trip changed everything for us in the best ways possible. We haven’t stopped traveling, leading, and serving with the World Race since. All of a sudden, we have 3 kids under 3 and instead of reading books to them, I rap books to them using instrumental hip hop beats. I’m channeling all things dad in my life with my jokes, my outfits, and my minivan. I’ve been to 38 countries and hope to keep my country count above my age for the rest of my life!
South Africa is a great bridge between American culture and the cultures you will find in Africa. Serving with Impact Africa or Global Leadership Academy will familiarize you with what it's like to do ministry overseas and will empower you to step out of your comfort zone. Month 1 will build a foundation for the next two months and this is largely due to the vision of these ministries.
During month 2, in Eswatini, you will put the skills you learned in South Africa to practice, while still receiving guidance from the Adventures base staff. You will do a lot of children's ministry and home visits, and will get to contribute to the development of the next generation of Swazi leaders.
Lesotho is a beautiful country, but what will make your month 3 memorable is the quality relationships you will build. Africa 4 Jesus will identify several locations where you can minister and serve their ministry, but it will be up to you to take ownership of what you and your team will accomplish. It will be challenging, but fruitful. We hope you will finish your trip with renewed confidence to connect with others back home and in your local community just like you did overseas.
A large part of this journey is growing in your walk with Christ. We desire to model the way Jesus discipled his followers. Mentors, coaches, and fellow Racers will disciple you, while you serve, love, and disciple others.
You’ll spend the first few days of your trip at a training camp here at World Race headquarters in North Georgia.
You’ll get to experience raw Christian community as you travel, serve, and encourage each other. Once you officially join the Race, you will be invited to a private Facebook group to begin getting to know your squad.
We’ll provide coaching, video tutorials, scripts, and ideas for fundraising plus a free fundraising course and a blog so you can tell your story and accept donations. We also have structured deadlines to help you reach your goal.
Our commitment to risk management includes internal and external teams who constantly monitor and manage risk and create contingency plans as needed.
Our amazing Parent Ministry provides resources and communication so your parents feel supported and informed while you’re on the field.
