My name is Jodi and I am originally from a small town in Texas called Colorado City! Most people think that’s weird because it’s not in Colorado, so there ya go! I did the World Race in 2016 and had the time of my life! I can’t narrow down one favorite country, but I would say Greece or anywhere in Southeast Asia! I really love coffee, laughing until my stomach hurts, and pop culture trivia.
In Nicaragua, you will be serving with two local ministries. At Cicrin Orphanage you will serve in the children’s ministry, spend time helping in the kitchen, teaching English, and assisting with improvement projects around the grounds. At Light & Salt Ministries you will get to be part of the trade classes that empower young boys and girls in a specific field. You will also get to take part in local outreach and evangelism. Or you may find yourself working alongside their Mercy in Action program, involved with evangelism efforts, administrative projects, and manual labor.
When you arrive in Guatemala, you will be welcomed by our team at our World Race base. Your outreach will focus on working with local children in the community through sports ministry and teaching English. You will also get to take part in our evangelism efforts by installing new stoves and water filters in local villages. It will be a jam-packed month of fun and exciting ministry.
A large part of this journey is growing in your walk with Christ. We desire to model the way Jesus discipled his followers. Mentors, coaches, and fellow Racers will disciple you, while you serve, love, and disciple others.
You’ll spend the first few days of your trip at a training camp here at World Race headquarters in North Georgia.
You’ll get to experience raw Christian community as you travel, serve, and encourage each other. Once you officially join the Race, you will be invited to a private Facebook group to begin getting to know your squad.
We’ll provide coaching, video tutorials, scripts, and ideas for fundraising plus a free fundraising course and a blog so you can tell your story and accept donations. We also have structured deadlines to help you reach your goal.
Our commitment to risk management includes internal and external teams who constantly monitor and manage risk and create contingency plans as needed.
Our amazing Parent Ministry provides resources and communication so your parents feel supported and informed while you’re on the field.
