I used to wonder “How do I live a life of purpose?” Can you relate?
The World Race was a catalytic year that changed the trajectory of my life forever. I developed a deeper relationship with God, built lasting friendships, and received firsthand experience on how to make a difference in the world. Today, my team and I have the privilege of leading hundreds of people on Semesters (one of the fastest-growing programs in our organization!) We’ll be your guides as you discover God’s plans are bigger than you ever dreamed. During your trip, our trained leadership team will share how to read the Bible and apply it as you serve and build relationships and live in an authentic Biblical community.
The Semesters Trip 2 Journey Empowers You to:
1. Grow with God
Witness God moving through the ministries and people you serve. Rely on His strength to fuel your days and His voice to lead the way.
2. Find Community
Discover how to be the church, and love each other while living and serving together in South Asia and Nepal.
3. Make a Difference
In each country you will come alongside our ministry partners to serve the community you will live in. You will focus a lot of your time learning to share the Gospel and serving alongside church planters in remote villages.
Get swept away into the vibrant array of spices, colors, foods, and smells of South Asia. This nation is diverse in language, culture, and religion, but so many have never heard the good news of Jesus. Feel the excitement of bringing the gift of God’s Word to those who have never read it. You’ll work alongside our partner, Bibles for the World, who are sharing the Gospel with many unreached communities in Manipur. Join the rapidly-growing movement of thousands of churches being planted across this vibrant nation.
Many from around the world make the trek to Nepal seeking adventure and spiritual truth, yet few Nepalis have discovered the true light of the Gospel. Surrounded by the impressive Himalayan mountains, you’ll visit remote villages where many people wait with an open heart to hear the message of the Gospel for the first time. Among the colorful streets of Kathmandu, join our partners who are bringing the message of the Gospel to the earth’s most distant corners. Here you’ll discover that there is no place so remote that the love of God can’t reach it.
Spend a semester on mission in South Asia and Nepal. The first half of your semesters will kick off in vibrant South Asia where you will join the rapidly-growing church planting movement spreading quickly across the nation. The second half of your semester will be in spiritual Nepal, where you’ll visit remote villages with many people waiting with an open heart to hear the Gospel message for the first time.
You’ll create a profile and complete a questionnaire application and then schedule a phone interview with our team so we can get to know you better. After that, we’ll let you know when you’ve been accepted!
Step 2: Fundraise
Once you’ve confirmed your spot, we will pair you with an Admissions Advisor who will help you with planning, fundraising ideas, and all the logistical information you need to prepare.
Step 3: Train
You will spend the first few days of your trip at our campus in Georgia, training, worshiping and bonding with your teammates before you leave.
Step 4: Launch
You will fly out with your team from the Atlanta airport and begin your semester on mission.
How We Support You
A large part of this journey is growing in your walk with Christ. We desire to model the way Jesus discipled his followers. Mentors, coaches, and fellow Racers will disciple you, while you serve, love, and disciple others.
You’ll spend the first few days of your trip at a training camp here at World Race headquarters in North Georgia.
You’ll get to experience raw Christian community as you travel, serve, and encourage each other. Once you officially join the Race, you will be invited to a private Facebook group to begin getting to know your squad.
We’ll provide coaching, video tutorials, scripts, and ideas for fundraising plus a free fundraising course and a blog so you can tell your story and accept donations. We also have structured deadlines to help you reach your goal.
Our commitment to risk management includes internal and external teams who constantly monitor and manage risk and create contingency plans as needed.
Our amazing Parent Ministry provides resources and communication so your parents feel supported and informed while you’re on the field.
