FOCUS:Evangelism, Community Service Projects, Kid’s Ministry
Witness the Lord bringing about restoration, healing, and racial reconciliation during your time in South Africa. Our local ministry partners provide Gospel-centered community development and education to under-resourced communities. You will be trained and activated by local leaders as you go out to do community projects and evangelism. You might also build relationships with local students while you teach them about the love of Jesus. While many come to South Africa for the adventure, you’ll walk away with a rich appreciation for this country’s diversity and sense of community.
FOCUS:Children’s Ministry, Orphan Care, Community Development
During your Semesters trip, you will partner with the Adventures in Missions Swaziland base, which is bringing new hope in this country where thousands of children have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. At Carepoints around the country, local Swazi staff are providing these children with food, clean water, education, healthcare, and discipleship. Our base staff will equip you to holistically care for these children and teach them about Jesus. Watch God transform your life as He continues to transform this country.

In Lesotho, you will find deeper connection with yourself, God, and the local people. Surrounded by a mountainous countryside, the simple pace of rural life will captivate you here. During your final month of your Semesters trip, you will build meaningful relationships with faithful African believers and walk out a Kingdom lifestyle - sometimes literally - as you hike through the hillsides of this nation.
If you haven't already been issued a passport prior to applying for one of our international trips, take note that US passport issuing services are significantly delayed in processing applications. You are more than welcome to apply for one of our trips. However, if you do not get issued a passport by the time we purchase a flight for your trip (around December 1st), you will need to choose a domestic trip option or defer to a later trip.

WHAT IF WE HAVE TO CANCEL THIS TRIP DUE TO COVID-19?
We have an experienced risk management team. They monitor political, health, weather, and other risks in the regions where we serve. We continue to confidently plan impactful trips and adjust when necessary. We won’t launch a trip that isn’t up to our standards of safety. In 2020, we canceled our international trips due to safety and travel restrictions with COVID-19 and gave options to our participants to join us domestically or defer to a later date. We currently feel confident launching this trip. If we have to cancel this trip, or you don’t feel comfortable going, the money you’ve raised can be applied to a different or future trip within the next calendar year.
You’ll create a profile and complete a questionnaire application and then schedule a phone interview with our team so we can get to know you better. After that, we’ll let you know when you’ve been accepted!
Step 2: Fundraise
Once you’ve confirmed your spot, we will pair you with an Admissions Advisor who will help you with planning, fundraising ideas, and all the logistical information you need to prepare.
Step 3: Train
You will spend the first few days of your trip at our campus in Georgia, training, worshiping and bonding with your teammates before you leave.
Step 4: Launch
You will fly out with your team from the Atlanta airport and begin your semester on mission.
Ever wonder if there’s more to your faith than what you’re experiencing? I can relate.
I understand how it feels to hear that whisper inside you that there’s got to be more to your faith than what you’re experiencing. That’s why I risked it all, quit my job, sold everything I owned and took off overseas to serve God and His people. I got a taste of the ‘more’ God had for me. 10+ years and 30+ countries later, my team and I now help other young people experience adventurous and purpose-filled moments with God like I had ...one semester at a time.
How We Support You
A large part of this journey is growing in your walk with Christ. We desire to model the way Jesus discipled his followers. Mentors, coaches, and fellow Racers will disciple you, while you serve, love, and disciple others.
You’ll spend the first few days of your trip at a training camp here at World Race headquarters in North Georgia.
You’ll get to experience raw Christian community as you travel, serve, and encourage each other. Once you officially join the Race, you will be invited to a private Facebook group to begin getting to know your squad.
We’ll provide coaching, video tutorials, scripts, and ideas for fundraising plus a free fundraising course and a blog so you can tell your story and accept donations. We also have structured deadlines to help you reach your goal.
Our commitment to risk management includes internal and external teams who constantly monitor and manage risk and create contingency plans as needed.
Our amazing Parent Ministry provides resources and communication so your parents feel supported and informed while you’re on the field.
