You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life -- where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.
You want to go the next level with God. You want a changed life.
Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, we have dedicated our lives to helping people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and be his witness to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).
Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.
If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did: Sharing the Gospel, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and hearing the voice of God... then it’s time for you to join us in...
Costa Rica is an adventurer's paradise, known for its stunning beaches and beautiful rainforests. But outside of the tourist destinations, there are large pockets of poverty and brokenness. We want to take the unchanging love of Jesus to the people in Costa Rica.
Where will we be serving?
While in Costa Rica, you will work with Metro Ministries and YWAM Ministry in Puerto Viejo. Metro Ministries works to rescue hurting children and teenagers; offering them a message of salvation and love that encourages them to stay in school and away from drugs, gangs and other destructive or criminal behaviors so common in inner-city environments. Metro meets both spiritual and physical needs through long-term one-on-one relationships.
What will we be doing?
- VBS - Teaching - English - Youth Ministry - Light work projects - Community outreach
You'll have some old school bunk beds but bring a sleeping bag and/or twin size sheets. There are normal bathrooms & showers!
God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Costa Rica?
Pray for Costa Rica
The Roman Catholic Churchis deeply impacted by charismatic renewal. Many have come to a living, personal faith in Christ, which has strengthened the Catholic Church (higher mass attendance, more indigenous seminarians and priests). Although 73% of the nation is Catholic, this percent declines every year, and most Catholics are quite nominal in their faith. From the charismatic renewal, many left the Catholic Church for evangelical churches; however, large and increasing numbers of “post-evangelicals” have returned to the familiarity and structure of Catholicism. Pray for both charismatics who stayed in the Catholic Church and those who have returned – may their faith bring further renewal to the mainstream of Catholicism.
