You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life -- where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.
You want to go to the next level with God. You want a changed life.
Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).
Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.
If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in...
Known for soccer, safaris, and shark diving, South Africa is the southernmost country in Africa. It's a land of adventure. It's also land of deep pain. Several decades since apartheid formally ended, South Africa still needs healing and reconciliation. Although it is one of the wealthiest countries on the continent, much of the population living outside the cities is poor. Like the rest of sub-Saharan Africa, this country struggles with a high rate of AIDS/HIV.
Host to the 2010 World Cup and breathtaking natural attractions, it’s also a place full of Kingdom potential.
You will partner with a local ministry Impact Africa, whose ministry is built off of the three A’s: The Approach, The Assist, and The Advance. You'll get trained, and then you'll be put into practice during house to house evangelism. Other ministry opportunities might include:
Community Development: Helping local communities work towards sustainability, and the opportunity to impact a neighborhood while making relationships.
Kids Ministry: You'll partner with a ministry working with Zulu kids doing a children's program, sharing the love of Christ through kids' favorite language: fun.
*There is also the possibility of a safari on the off day (not included in your trip cost)!
You'll stay at a retreat center with bunk beds, a dining hall, western toilets, and lots of free space! Water and electricity are available, but power outages happen on occasion. Limited wifi access is available.
God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in South Africa?
Pray for South Africa
Reconciliation among all races. This applies not just to black-white dynamics, but also to coloured and Indian peoples as well as to relationships among various black ethnicities. The “rainbow nation” must still deal with contempt, mistrust and deep-seated hurts and fears among peoples of this diverse but troubled land. Pray that the Church might lead the way by living out the truth of oneness in Christ Jesus.
