Ghana / Adult Mission Trip

You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life -- where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.

You want to go to the next level with God. You want a changed life.

Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in...

Located in West Africa, Ghana's name means "Warrior King". The first sub-Saharan nation to gain their independence, their history is mainly fighting for freedom. A primary exporter of gold, diamonds, and petroleum, Ghana has a successful economy. It has one of the highest school enrollment rates in all of Africa. People from other nations in Africa travel to Ghana for better medical care. However, poverty is still widespread in the rural areas, where families still lack basic needs, like food, clean water, and safe shelter.

Will you share the freedom of life in Christ in Ghana?

Ministry

While in Ghana, you will partner with basketball ministry called Hoops Care. Ministry opportunities will include:

Sports:

  • Physical education and team training at partnering schools
  • Girl’s sports activities following “Girl’s, Girl’s Talk”
  • Regular tournaments hosted and supported by HCI
  • Wheelchair basketball league for physically challenged individuals

Health:

  • Installing of mosquito nets in homes paired with malaria prevention discussion
  • HIV/AIDS Awareness

Community:

  • “Girl’s, Girl’s Talk” weekly for teen girls in Cape Coast to discuss issues such as HIV/AIDS, feminine hygiene, healthy relationships, first aid, etc.
  • Frequent events to encourage healthy lifestyles as well as values such as peace and tolerance in the Amanful community (walk4peace, new mother’s workshop, etc.)
  • Upcoming store project aimed to empower women in the community by training them in making of crafts to sell in HCI store

Lodging

You'll stay in the ministry guesthouse with western toilets. You'll have electricity, wifi, and clean water! Bring some extra bibles and sporting goods with you when you come!

Join the people of Ghana as they continue to brave the way for a better future.

God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth.

Will you join Him in Ghana?

Pray for Ghana

Mature Christian leaders remain at a premium. As churches multiply, biblical faith is challenged and doctrines become confused. Compared with some other countries, however, Ghana is blessed by the number of training institutions. Among the many schools is Christian Service University College in Kumasi started by WEC, Maranatha University College (SIM), Ghana Christian University College and Good News Theological College & Seminary. There are over 30 other accredited denominational and interdenominational Bible schools as well as a range of TEE and lay training programmes run by different denominations and agencies, including a growing number in the AICs.
