We come alongside our ministry partners that serve the Navajo people near a reservation in the high desert of New Mexico at an elevation of 7,200 feet. The people in the Navajo community are desperately in need of Jesus and spiritual direction. Many are in trouble, facing huge drug and alcohol addiction issues, family disintegration, and incredibly high suicide rates (even among the very young). The level of dependency and hopelessness is still hard for many people living outside the reservations to imagine, let alone understand. Native Americans need a personal experience, a loving relationship with Jesus that will lead to hope and purpose.
You’ve got a story to tell. It’s significant, powerful, and you want it to count for something.
You know about women who are suffering and being victimized, and your heart breaks for them.
That's exactly how Ruth and her team felt on the very first Beauty for Ashes trip in 2014. They wanted to see women set free from the lies they had believed for years. On that trip, Ruth met a woman named Nancy. She realized this new friend had a story in need of God’s redemption. After her time with Ruth, Nancy began believing God's truth — her story does matter.
Psalm 107:2 says “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.” Since 2014, Beauty for Ashes has reached over 8,000 women in 60 countries because of people like you, who are willing to share their story of redemption. We’ve hosted hundreds of retreats and small groups around the world, and have seen our curriculum proven as an effective tool God is using to foster lasting change in the lives of women.
God longs for His daughters to join Him in an intimate relationship. He desires to walk with them through healing and remind women of the identity and hope they have in Him.
If you want to join a Christ-centered community of women committed to taking God’s love to all of the nations, then it’s time for you to join us in New Mexico.
As a participant on this domestic mission trip, you will join your team in New Mexico, enjoying the warmth of new friends and the expectancy of how God will move. You will personally experience Beauty for Ashes ministry through a time of authenticity, vulnerability, hope, and healing as you allow God to use your story to empower you and your team.
You will have an opportunity to share God’s hope and love by hosting Beauty for Ashes retreats for Navajo women living in the reservation.
Your team will:
Host Beauty for Ashes retreats, creating spaces for God to bring hope, healing, and redemption to the stories of local women.
Be equipped to share about topics such as worth, identity, healing, and forgiveness with others through storytelling and vulnerability.
Build meaningful relationships with your team and those with whom you minister.
Gain a deeper understanding of who God is and who you are as His daughter.
Your team will stay at the ministry site of Navajo Brethren in Christ with bunk beds, showers, and bathrooms. Team members will need to provide their own pillow, toiletries and towel.
Electricity and spotty wifi are available too.
Meals are very much a team effort, and we have a lot of fun in the process! Teams will participate in meal prep and serving. Breakfast will be cold cereal, fruit, bagels, etc. Hot breakfasts could be available as well, depending on the group's willingness to contribute to the meal prep and cooking. Lunch will be packed sandwiches, fruit and a side to take to the ministry site. Hot dinners will be prepared by the team as well.
