Costa Rica is one of the most stable countries in Central America, economically and politically. Its volcanoes and lush jungles draw tourists from around the world, and its easygoing beach towns are a popular destination for world-class surfing.
One of the only countries without an active military, Costa Rica lives by the motto, pura vida, which embodies an easy-going approach to life.
Enjoy the delicious coffee and slower pace of life here.
You will serve with our ministry partners, either near the capital city of San Jose or one of our other partner locations. Here are some ministry activities you could be doing in Costa Rica:
Children’s Ministry: Share God's love with kids and local youth through games, songs, stories, and sports in some of the slums of the capital city and at-risk areas of San Jose.
Work Projects: Build houses for single moms who need a safe place for their kids while they are at work or learning new skills.
Evangelism: Meet people and listen as they share their stories. Plus you'll have the incredible honor to share about Jesus' love and the awesome gift of hope He offers with the people you'll meet. This would take place in parks, communities around our base and prisons.
Food Bank: We want you to get to know first hand how this organization impacts other ministries you will be involved with. Starting to help with the small things will allow you to get a bigger perspective on how you will be impacting lives at other ministries.
During your time serving in Costa Rica, you’ll stay at one of our church partners, either near San Jose or at one of our other ministry sites. Each location is safe and secure. Bedding could be on the church floor or in bunk beds, depending on availability. Participants should bring their own sleeping bag or sheets. Bathrooms and showers are available at each location.
Your team will fly into San Jose, Costa Rica, where we’ll meet you at the airport. We will arrange all of the ground transportation to and from the airport, as well as to and from the ministry sites during the day.
Customize your mission trip
Work with our Missions Advisors to put together a mission trip that fits your group!
We work with you to understand your objectives and put together an experience that is specifically designed for your group. Our team takes care of logistics, ministry planning, debriefs, devotionals, and provides project leaders so you can focus on discipleship and showing your youth how to follow the voice of God and live for Him.
We want you to have a new experience with Jesus that dramatically encourages your relationship with Him. God has things to say to you! During our mission trips, we intentionally spend time to listen.
More than just setting up a trip, we want to become your partners in ministry.
The Holy Spirit is already doing a great work in your group; it’s our role to understand your needs and come alongside what God is already doing in a unique way.
Trusted local partners
All of our ministry partners, both overseas and domestic, have a history of excellence in hosting short-term mission teams.
All of our Project Leaders have been well trained and are specifically prepared to lead each group.
More than just designing an experience for your group, we work with ministry partners that have a long-term plan for sustainability. Your team will come alongside these efforts and can be confident that your service is actually helping.
It’s important to us that your group has an opportunity to connect with Jesus and what He’s doing, both around the world and here in the United States. It’s just as important to us that your experience happens in the context of a plan for sustainability. Our long-term missionaries and ministry partners are doing fantastic work every day. Your short-term mission trip will be specifically designed to support that effort while inspiring your group’s relationship with Jesus.
