Known as “The Land of Eternal Spring”, Guatemala is one of the most beautiful and diverse countries in Central America. Tourists travel from all over the world to climb its volcanoes, drink its coffee, and zip line through the rainforest.
However, the true beauty of Guatemala is its people.
Gripped by poverty, the people of Guatemala hunger for the Kingdom of God. The majority of Guatemalans practice a form of Catholicism, and it’s estimated many also mix in ancient tribal religions and cultural traditions into their faith.
Adventures’ Base in Guatemala has been established near Antigua since 2012. Our long term missionaries at the base love hosting Short Term Mission teams, inviting them into opportunities to serve in a variety of ways.
Ministry
Stove Installation: Many of the local Guatemalan families that live below the poverty line cook over a fire in their home. This leads to major problems from smoke inhalation, but is a generally accepted way of life. Installing stoves into these families’ homes is a great way to show love the community and begin a relationship that will hopefully guide them toward Jesus.
Clean Water: Many of the same families also struggle to access clean water in their homes. This also provides us an opportunity to meet a felt need and share the love of Jesus as we install water filtration systems and train people about the importance of clean water.
Church Mobilization: We partner with local churches to train up Guatemalan missionaries. This is a great opportunity to invest in Guatemalans that will eventually move to another country to share the love of Christ, make disciples and plant churches.
Lodging
Our base has bunk rooms specifically built and designed for short term teams. You’ll have access to bathrooms, showers, meeting space and a kitchen, all behind a safety wall and gate leading to the compound. There’s plenty of space!

Customize your mission trip
Work with our Missions Advisors to put together a mission trip that fits your group!
We work with you to understand your objectives and put together an experience that is specifically designed for your group. Our team takes care of logistics, ministry planning, debriefs, devotionals, and provides project leaders so you can focus on discipleship and showing your youth how to follow the voice of God and live for Him.
We want you to have a new experience with Jesus that dramatically encourages your relationship with Him. God has things to say to you! During our mission trips, we intentionally spend time to listen.
More than just setting up a trip, we want to become your partners in ministry.
The Holy Spirit is already doing a great work in your group; it’s our role to understand your needs and come alongside what God is already doing in a unique way.
All of our ministry partners, both overseas and domestic, have a history of excellence in hosting short-term mission teams.
All of our Project Leaders have been well trained and are specifically prepared to lead each group.
More than just designing an experience for your group, we work with ministry partners that have a long-term plan for sustainability. Your team will come alongside these efforts and can be confident that your service is actually helping.
It’s important to us that your group has an opportunity to connect with Jesus and what He’s doing, both around the world and here in the United States. It’s just as important to us that your experience happens in the context of a plan for sustainability. Our long-term missionaries and ministry partners are doing fantastic work every day. Your short-term mission trip will be specifically designed to support that effort while inspiring your group’s relationship with Jesus.
