Pioneers Central Asia
Kingdom Journeys Mission Trip
Kingdom Journeys: Pioneers Central Asia
Central Asia is, even among the backpacking community, a bit of a wild mystery. Remote and often misunderstood, these ‘stans’ have long since held a special allure for those with a heart for the unreached and unknown. Home to the Silk Road, the Pamir highway, and some of the last truly nomadic people on earth, Central Asia is unique in its wildness and ruggedness. It is also extremely unreached by the Gospel.
This team will provide the Adventures logistics team with both factual information on the region as well as spiritual context for what the Lord is doing here.
There is a need for strong ministry partners that know how to effectively use and guide a team coming through the region. This team will also identify useful resources that can be used for future teams (debrief locations, hostels, translators, taxi and bus drivers, etc.).
While finding ministry partners for future teams will be a substantial goal, the primary goal will be to join the Lord in what He’s doing in this region, and to share the Gospel with Central Asian Muslims; the training will reflect this. Any ministry partnerships developed or ministry opportunities pursued should be an overflow of the team’s focus on relational discipleship and having Gospel conversations.
This trip will be much more autonomous and loosely framed than the World Race. While still comprising a journey (both physically and spiritually), this trip will be more adaptable to the desires, skillsets, and callings of the participants. The team will be expected to follow the ways the Lord is leading, join Him in His work in this region, and practice what they have learned on the World Race.
There will not be set ministry; rather, ministry will be largely as the participant makes it. This trip is for those who believe that life is ministry, and don’t require a schedule or organization to tell them when and what to do. This will require discernment and obedience, as well as self-motivation and resourcefulness.
This trip provides mid-term access and exposure for Alumni who may have a heart for this region, or for Muslims. While not long term necessarily, and while long term aspirations are not at all required to join this team, consider this trip a mid-term launch pad. Until all have heard.
