Details & Logistics

During your time in Romania you will serve with our partner Hope Church, a community dedicated to impacting the community with the hope of Christ on a local, regional, and international level. Hope Church is a church planting ministry focused on relationship building, discipleship and service.

  • Children’s Ministry: You will have the opportunity to work closely with several dedicated missionaries who share your heart for children. You will assist the missionaries in the Kids Club Program by preparing Bible lessons and crafts, and playing games with the children.
  • Church Ministry: Partner and encourage a local church through sermons, worship, and sharing your testimonies.
  • Community Outreach: Pass out eye-glasses and Bibles to the people living in the community.
  • Intercessory Prayer: Every morning, you will have the opportunity to participate in intercessory prayer. This is a great way to connect and build deep relationships with our local missionary staff as they lead the prayer each morning at the church. You will also learn about the needs of Craiova, Romania, and the Balkan region. This has been a favorite activity of teams in the past, and we look forward to partnering with you in prayer
  • Food Distribution: Many people are hungry and in need in the area. Your team could have the opportunity to share the love of Christ as you deliver food to those in need.

During the summer, ministry typically looks like intercession ministry in the morning, praying with your team and local believers at the church. In the afternoon or evening is community ministry, including activities listed above. Sometimes depending on the weather, you might do more ministry in the evening because it’s cooler then.

Your team will stay in the “Team House,” which has several rooms with bunk beds and a couple of common areas. You will also have hot showers, bathrooms, running water and wifi.

A cook will prepare meals for your team. Depending on the ministry activities for the day, you may bring a sack lunch with you to eat at the ministry site.

The destination is Craiova. Your team will fly into Bucharest, where we’ll meet you and take the 3-4 hour drive to the ministry site. Your team will arrive on Friday evening, have Saturday to get acclimated and have orientation before joining their church for service and then getting started on ministry on Sunday.

All local transportation will be arranged for you, including pick up and dropoff at the airport. Sometimes you’ll also use taxis to get around town. Some ministries are within walking distance.

The safety of our participants is a top priority for us. We have both an internal Risk Management team and external Risk Management consultants. We use a multi-pronged approach to risk management - including monitoring information from reporting agencies and relying on the knowledge of our ministry partners. In addition to our own protocols (e.g., students must be with an adult at all times), our ministry hosts and partners will provide trip specific safety guidelines for the particular trip location. Our Project Leaders are trained in risk management and have access to both on-field and home-office support.

$75 Deposit: This per person deposit is required to complete your registration. At this point, you will lock in your trip and we will keep in touch with you going forward about preparation. This deposit is applied to the total cost of your trip.

50% Payment: Half of your total trip cost will need to be paid 6 weeks before your trip.

100% Payment: The remaining balance is due 1 month before your trip.
